What Causes Subluxations?

Subluxation

Not only must your spine help you stand erect, it must allow you to move while allowing the vital nerve communications between your brain and your body. Your spinal cord and nerve roots are the most vulnerable part of your nervous system. That’s why we’re so interested in your spine. If your spine isn’t working right, your nervous system probably isn’t either—even if you feel great and don’t have any symptoms!

There are many causes of spinal subluxations. They fall into three broad categories. Here are some of the causes our patients have mentioned:

Dr. Steven Asks some important questions of interest to Hazlet residents - Chiropractor Hazlet Dr. Steven Asks...

How could a child benefit from chiropractic?
Regardless of our age, each of us in Hazlet encounters physical, chemical and emotional stresses that exceed our ability to handle. For newborns, it could be the trauma encountered at birth. For toddlers it could be from learning to walk or ride a bike. Many of the problems we chiropractors see in adults are the result of neglected traumas from childhood.
Why does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.
